Benefit Programs and Eligibility Requirements

To apply to CCTC, please visit our Admissions page to submit your application.

To determine VA education benefit eligibility you must first apply at www.va.gov. Once approved, please provide VA documents to CCTC, Veterans Affairs office.

To begin using your VA Educational Benefits at CCTC, please review the procedures below for your approved VA chapter benefit.

Post-9/11 GI Bill (Chapter 33)

If you have 90 days of active aggregate service (after 9/10/01) or 30 days of continuous service if discharged for a disability. More information here.

Montgomery GI Bill – Active Duty (MGIB-AD/Chapter 30)

Must have 2 yr. continuous enlistment (minimum duty varies by service date, branch, etc.). More information here.

Montgomery GI Bill – Selected Reserve (MGIB-SR/Chapter 1606)

Must have 6 yr. commitment (after 6/30/85). More information here.

Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance Program (DEA/Chapter 35)

Eligible dependents of Veterans who are permanently and totally disabled due to a service-related condition or of Veterans who died while on active duty or as a result of a service-related condition. More information here.

  3. If you are the Dependent (Child) of a 100% Disabled Wartime Veteran, you may qualify for Free Tuition. All applications must be submitted online at Education | SC Department Of Veterans’ Affairs.  Please call 803-647-2424 with questions regarding the program and/or application status.

VA Veteran Readiness & Employment (VR&E/Chapter 31)

For Veterans with service-connected disabilities. Find out more at the VA Website

  1. To determine eligibility, you must first apply online at Veteran Readiness And Employment (Chapter 31)
  2. Once approved for VR&E, you will be assigned a VA Case Manager who will submit a purchase order (PO) to the VA Certifying Official at CCTC. You are not authorized to attend classes without an active PO. The VA will also provide you with an Authorization Number to purchase your books and/or other approved items from the Campus Store.  Add campus store link here?
