DESCRIPTION:
Under the general supervision of the Industrial Technology Program Manager, performs instructional duties related to maintaining and instructing aspiring truck drivers the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to pass their CDL permit test, covering topics like vehicle inspection, air brakes, traffic laws, safety procedures to prepare learners for their permit exam and further CDL training. Delivers and conducts training courses on campus or at remote locations. Performs classroom and topic preparation, and delivery of classes including demonstrating with teaching aids and completing required administrative paperwork. Maintains technical competence and skills. Maintain the safety of the students as a priority. Deliver technical product knowledge and skill-based instruction, including certification and customized curricula for the customer. Implement approved revisions to course material as necessary to actively engage participants to maximize learning. Continuously enhance technical instructional delivery and presentation skills. Administer written and practical assessments to evaluate trainees’ performance. Completion and submission of any required documentation upon conclusion. Deliver attendance within the established deadlines. Must have excellent communication and organizational skills and be proficient in computer skills in the major office applications, i.e. Word, Excel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
5 years of experience in the transportation. Current or previous CDL “A” or “B”. Valid Driver’s License. Travel required. Candidates should be able to work independently, be self-directing, have good verbal and written skills.
SALARY:
Commensurate of education and experience.
